About Anxiety Checker

Why This Site Exists

If you've ever searched "do I have anxiety" late at night, you've probably found yourself wading through:

We built Anxiety Checker because we thought you deserved better.

What we wanted to create:

That's it. A simple, private, genuinely helpful tool.

About the Assessment

Our screening tool uses the GAD-7 (Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale), developed by Drs. Robert L. Spitzer, Janet B.W. Williams, Kurt Kroenke, and colleagues.

The GAD-7 is:

Citation: Spitzer RL, Kroenke K, Williams JBW, Löwe B. A brief measure for assessing generalized anxiety disorder: the GAD-7. Arch Intern Med. 2006;166(10):1092-1097.

Important Disclaimers

Please read these carefully. They matter.

This Is a Screening Tool, Not a Diagnosis

The GAD-7 is a screening instrument. It can help identify whether you may be experiencing symptoms consistent with an anxiety disorder, but it cannot diagnose you.

Only a qualified healthcare provider can diagnose mental health conditions. This includes doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other licensed professionals.

Your score on this assessment gives you information — it's not a label, and it's not the final word on your mental health.

This Is Not a Substitute for Professional Help

The information on this website is for educational purposes only. It is not intended to replace:

  • Professional medical advice
  • Psychological evaluation
  • Psychiatric treatment
  • Emergency services

If you're concerned about your mental health, please talk to a qualified professional.

No Guarantees

We've done our best to provide accurate, helpful information based on reputable sources. However, we cannot guarantee that this information is complete, current, or applicable to your specific situation.

Mental health is complex and individual. What helps one person may not help another.
