We know that many people experiencing anxiety are worried about being tracked, judged, or having their personal information shared. We built Anxiety Checker with that in mind.

What We Do NOT Collect

Let's be clear about what we don't do:

• ❌ We don't collect your assessment answers — they're processed entirely in your browser
• ❌ We don't store your results — when you leave the page, the data is gone
• ❌ We don't ask for your email — no newsletter signup, no account required
• ❌ We don't require registration — no usernames, no passwords
• ❌ We don't use tracking cookies — no advertising cookies, no retargeting
• ❌ We don't sell or share personal data — we don't have it to sell
• ❌ We don't use third-party analytics that identify you — no Google Analytics tracking individuals

How the Assessment Works (Technically)

When you take our anxiety screening:

1. You answer 7 questions in your browser
2. Your answers are held temporarily in browser memory (JavaScript variables)
3. Your score is calculated locally, in your browser
4. The score may be passed between pages using URL parameters or sessionStorage
5. SessionStorage is cleared when you close the browser tab
6. Nothing is sent to our servers. Ever.

You can verify this yourself: Open your browser's developer tools (usually F12), go to the Network tab, and take the assessment. You'll see that no data about your answers is transmitted.

What We May Collect

In the interest of full transparency, here's what minimal data we might receive:

Hosting Provider Logs

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare may log:

• IP addresses
• Browser type
• Pages visited
• Timestamps

These logs are managed by Cloudflare according to their privacy policy. We don't have access to individual logs identifying specific users.

Future Analytics (If Added)

If we add analytics in the future, we will:

• Use a privacy-respecting service (no Google Analytics)
• Collect only aggregate, anonymized data (like "100 people visited today")
• Never track individual users or connect analytics to assessment results
• Update this policy to reflect any changes

Cookies

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.

We may use minimal technical cookies required for the site to function (e.g., Cloudflare security features). These are not used to identify or track you.

Third-Party Links

Our site contains links to external resources, including:

• Crisis hotlines (988, Crisis Text Line)
• Therapy platforms (BetterHelp, Talkspace — affiliate links)
• Educational resources

When you click these links, you leave our site. Those third parties have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Affiliate Links Disclosure

Some links on our site are affiliate links. If you click through and sign up for a service (like an online therapy platform), we may receive compensation.

This does not:

• Change the price you pay
• Give us access to your information on those platforms
• Influence the content or recommendations on our site

Children's Privacy
